Ed Simmons was born in Pikeville, TN and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. where he loved the outdoors and the tropical weather. Ed also enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Florida everglades. After high school, Ed joined the Marines and served two consecutive tours in Vietnam traveling the world. Back in civilian life in the states he continued his technical training in computer systems with Southern Bell. In the following years Ed married and moved to Atlanta, GA where he and a group of colleagues started their own GPS mapping firm. Always very active in his kid’s lives, he enjoyed scouting, camping and sharing family activities with them and now with their children. After a divorce, years ago, Ed remarried and is now having fun in Canton, GA with his wife, family and his big, red landscaping tractor. Ed continues to work in computer technology and looks forward to retiring and fishing on his lake property on Strom Thurman Lake in South Carolina.
