PLAYA ZANCUDO
Along the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, near the old banana port of Golfito, there lies a long sandy beach that stretches 6 miles along the warm blue waters of the Golfo Dulce. In this little corner of paradise, there is a small, tranquil settlement of friendly hosts, comfortable accommodations, good food, casual atmosphere and refreshment for the body and soul. Down the beach you can find a number of wonderful restaurants and bars, such as Sol y Mar, with it’s great food, constant flow of drinks, and beachside cabanas. The beach at Playa Zancudo is well known for its long expanse of sun, sand, surf and sea. Here, the ocean is your playground — it offers superb safe swimming for all. At the protected end of the beach, the waves are gentle enough for child’s play. As you walk south along the beach, the warm surf grows in size and intensity. Midway down the beach, you can enjoy body surfing and boogie boarding. Walk another 10 minutes down the beach, and you’ll find great waves for board surfing.
